Screw in rear tyre of 275/40 R19 101W Continental Sport Contact 3

Rang up the tyre guys and they said it's only the continental run flats you can't fix. Not that we're really wanting to fix it. downside now is that both rear tyres are going to have to be replaced as the car has done around 30000kms (most likely they will both need to be replaced anyway) Now does anybody have any recommendations for brand of the new pair? |

Another question is, if the X3 came with continental run flats, do we always need to get runflat tyres?
the Continental 2's aren't run flats Or is the X3 system going to have a hernia? The flat tyre system is pretty useless, doesn't even tell you which wheel it believes the flat is in |

I am going to talk to my BMW dealer to find out if it is OK to mix run flats with standard tires. I expect that they will not recommend it. I don't like the hard run flat tires and if I had an unrepairable in one of mine, I would go for replacing all of them with a decent conventional tire. I would also but the BMW emergency inflation kit as that will be required.

Most tyre dealers don't keep it in stock. Only ones who did were in wealthier suburbs where there are a lot of BMWs (logically)
They wanted $650 for it though. Ask a 'cheap mates' place and got quoted $530 but only trouble was it took a few days to come in. |

I have the rears on 220 and the fronts on 200 as per spec. The one with the flat seems to have remained at 180. |
