Saw that yesterday. I get it's important to get peeps on board but reviving 7 old threads seemed a bit excessive when one probably would've done the trick lol

Given that he is a new member, says nothing of his own car, and tells everybody to contact a certain law firm, I suspect he might be someone associated with that firm trying to create evidence - "Look how many complaints there are!"

Ahhh, interesting. I hadn't considered that strategy. If accurate, definitely a crappy ambulance chaser move for sure

Now that's funny, except for the members who have to deal with it. Our N20 has 135k and is going strong. It's just a hunch but I highly suspect ASS played a role in those cases.

Hello,
Just now I saw this thread and would like to share my true experience. Last August, I went through this issue and my engine was replaced with brand new . In my case Bmw applied 80/20 formula means I have to pay 20percentage of the cost which was around c$4800.. if your timing chain whining strongly advise to go and check it .. it seems it's a known manufacturing defect . It's in dealer service bulletin but not on customer recall list. Means they decided not to recall vehicle rather wait until it fail and help the customer. The issue is very serious. It won't show any symptom other than intermittent whining at low pressure for which dealer said it's normal. But suddenly you will get a notice on display " low oil engine pressure" and then your engine is gone! |
