I guess it took BMW years to cater to American's love of cup holders. Well, we also like to crank up the radio while washing cars or being parked at the beach or somewhere. It's maddening and very un-chic to have that radio automatically switching off every 8 minutes. I'm going go have to look into reprogramming if that's possible.

and the way BMW designs things you will leave it on for more than 8 minutes and end up with a low or dead battery.

I guess I haven't left it that long, but from what I've been told, with the vehicle off, pushing the radio on/off button will turn on the radio. It will stay on until either turned off or the computer detects the battery is low. If turned on this way, it shuts off in 8 minutes?
