BMW X3 Tyres Australia Pirelli or Continentals?
Can't believe the front tyres wore down after 28000km.
Fronts are 245/45 R19 Rears are 275/40 R19 Choosing between the Pirelli Pzeros or the Conti Contact 3's Obviously the conti's didn't last very long at all but I read that either the Pirelli's are too soft or carry lots of road noise. Any suggestions? Both differen in price by about $20, Pirelli's $470 for the fronts and Conti's $490 Only the front ones need replacing. |

I had much better luck with the Pirellis. Distinct wear issues with the Contis. Didn't last long, had poor traction, and the wear pattern affected handling and noise. Pirellis lasted longer, provided better performance traction, better wet weather performance (not an all weather tire), and a nicer, quieter ride and feel. I'm in Virginia, not Australia, so hard for me to say if you have conditions that would change your experience. I'd only go back to the Contis if there simply wasn't another option. I'd ditch them all and start out with a set of fresh Pirellis.

I am currently looking to replace my Pirelli P Zeros because they are rock hard and I want a softer rubber. I am thinking about a non-runflat Pirelli P Zero Nero, which is an all season. They are quite difficult to get hold of though.
I would have to say that the P Zeros are nice on very smooth tarmac, but there isn't much of that where I live! |

I had the All Season RFT version of those on previous 3 series cars and really like them. Would buy them in a second if they were available for my X3. I'm a fan of RFT, though, so won't go with the non-RFTs.
