My 2014 X3 has been in Finishing Touches stage for a week now, Anyone know or remember how long it has taken for an order to reach the dealer from the finishing touches stage? The anticipation is killing me. BMW's 800# said it was en route to California so they claim it may be a week to a week/half.

for me--it took 1 day, but I am in the Atlanta area--the production facility is a 3 hr drive MAX from here.


Call your dealer--he/she will have the most up to date info, including if it has been released on to a carrier..etc. I'm 99% sure your car has left the factory already.

It sure has left the factory, it supposedly (according to BMW) is already en route to CA, but I haven't heard anything from my dealer. It would be nice to know if I can make plans for the weekend or not but BMW says the timeline is something like end of week to next week sometime.

Takes a couple of weeks to get to Oxnard, CA.. Then they rack and sack all the models for delivery to western USA. LA area is probably pretty quick from there. You could go out to the Palm Springs area, sit by the RR tracks and watch it go by.

Shoot, I was hoping it would get here sooner like bmw said... Patience is a virtue I've never understood.

So probably by the end of the month I should have some delivery action

Our 2013 is still showing "finishing touches" and we took delivery of it in January.

I was told my X3 should be in Oxnard CA on Thursday, My Dealer is in Buena Park CA, Any guess as to when I might take delivery? Im getting ants in my shoes, I cant wait!!!

Natrphot does not go thru Oxnard! Probably 3-4 days, maybe a week after Oxnard. Depends on how busy they are and how the transports are loaded. Probably another day at the dealer for prep. Sorry.

That's what I needed to know, I am of course hoping it's only a few days or less from Thursday, the point the X3 hits Oxnard.

BMWUSA.com's BYO still shows 2013 model. Does the dealer login to different portal for 2014 models? I want to see the pictures of 2014, particularly the design of side view mirrors.

The 2014 X3 is identical on the outside to the 2013.

The only differences are on the inside...

Just a very few days, but as was stated in earlier reply, I am much closer than you. We got the information that the video was available early in the week (Monday or Tuesday) and we took delivery on Saturday.

I got the call today that my car was on the ground but it was false alarm, apparently it is still on the transport truck so crossing fingers I will have it tomorrow Wish me luck!
