So, I went to the one in Bellevue.. They did not have any that I liked. Talked about ordering one with %3, $1,000 driver test event discount, and $1000 finance. Was not happy with %3 so I left of course.

Waiting on a response for one of the x3 at Beaverton, OR which is priced at $56,000. I am not sure if it is possible to drop it to $50,000 which I will buy then. The one in Bellevue seemed very rude because I am pretty young.. Hopefully the one in Oregon is actually a professional.

So, what is the reasonable % off from MSRP before applying $1000 finance, $2000 hopefully military, etc.? Should I mention those before we talk about %? I see people who are getting like 9% which is insane!

Invoice is usually 7% off of MSRP plus MACO and training fees.

Another option is to order while you're TDY outside of the US, you can use Military sales and get a flat 10% off.

Mine was 8% off MSRP before any discount. With the discount, it was about 12% off MSRP

auto loan

I got a deal with a dealer in Beaverton with -6600 off.

Now with financing, I see that BMW does -2000 for military with USAA (need the certificate to get this).
BMW does -1000 for financing with them and -1000 for military.
Thus, it is the same discount.

BMW seems like from their website, lowest they go is 3.34% while USAA will for sure go lower. I cannot seem to get the USAA certificate for the vehicle the dealer and I are on... My credit check on chase is 750.

Any tips?

Build your own?

My dealer I am working with (for the moment) keeps acting like he doesn't hear me when I mention building my own. It's "tell me what you want" and "I have access to every dealer in the country". It seem's I do too to some degree (cars.com) and I am not finding exactly what I want. Close, if I don't mind 2nd choice color (black not graphite) and 2nd trim (rhomboid not grey poplar) BTW I am looking for a fully loaded 30i m-sport.

Is it true that we are now looking at mid-march build dates if dealer allocations are used up? Coincidently I waited 4 months until March this year for my Ford Transit's Quigley 4x4 conversion.

How do we know before the sale of the status of the dealers allocation? Also when ordering a build it appears your financing can be locked in at the current .99%? Thanks.

Out of curiosity, what is the MSRP difference between your build and a comparably equipped M40i?

Maybe the dealer doesn't have any allocation? I had a couple of conversations about locking in 0.9% financing. One dealer said that 0.9% only applied to cars delivered in December. Two other dealers told me that 0.9% financing could be "locked in" now for a build-to-order car, even if the car wasn't delivered until January. Don't know if the answer would change if the car would be delivered in March.

By my calculation, if you're financing around 50k for a 60 month period, locking in 0.9% financing, rather than 2.99% (which seems to be closer to market rates) could have a value of around $2.5k. Of course if you finance less or for a shorter term or expect to prepay the loan, the value would be less.

Mine is 0% financing regardless if it is Dec or Jan delivery. I ordered in Mid-Nov

Hey Ed, glad you asked that I hadn’t compared them lately. It’s only $5k, on the build it site from 60 1/2 to 65 1/2. You all may laugh, but this car is actually for my wife as the primary, and she does not care at all for the M40 “loud mufflers”. She does like the zip of the 2.0 turbo of our Tiguan. The Xline we drove last night on paper is a bit faster but I really didn’t feel that during my short time behind the wheel.

I almost felt a little immature putting it in sport mode with her beside me so I really didn’t run it through the gears either. We are both getting up there in the years and the “what’s the rush” thing is setting in a bit. I always thought old folks drove slow because of impairments, that may not always be the case!

BTW the .9 financing/60mo and 1.9/72 mo is in its 4th month and each month they tell dealers it ends at months end. End of year may be different though he says.

Interesting. I get the muffler thing, though I thought that it was relatively quiet in comfort mode. I think $5k is a pretty reasonable price to upgrade to the I6, which is a wonderful engine, but I get that it might not be worth it for some folks.

How are people getting the 0.9% financing? Is this a regional thing or was it a November deal? I'm only seeing 3.34% and that's all the dealer wants to offer me.

I've never seen it advertised, but all 5 of the dealers I spoke with said there was a 0.9% financing promotion, though one said it couldn't be locked in for a car that would be delivered after December.

I can't imagine that this is dealer specific. Must be an incentive from BMW finance itself.

All of the dealers are quoting BMW saying that the only incentive at the moment is $1000 back if you finance, but the rate is 3.34%. I see you're in NJ -- which have you tried?

Prestige
Paul Miller
Park Avenue
Tenafly
Bloomington

Deal is 0.9% for up to 60 months. Tenafly was the only dealer who said I couldn’t lock in 0.9% for build to order.

Thanks! I'm going to contact them to see who can get me a good deal. The NYC dealers aren't really budging in price and they're all 3.34%.

Not budging on price means MSRP minus incentives? Are you shopping for M40i or 30i?

They're not budging by much -- nowhere near as good of deals that some forum members are getting. I'm shopping for the M40i but I'm going to focus on the NJ dealers today. Have you had luck with any particular ones?

Kamek - In mid-Nov I was offered $500 below invoice by Paul Miller before incentives. Park Ave and Bloomfield were competitive, Prestige was not.

Kamek, mspringer's sounds better than mine (I got my first BMW from Paul Miller), but I think I did well with Prestige up in Ramsey. I ordered mine before anyone had delivery and I think I was $5,500 off with $1,500 incentive and the $1,000 financing incentive. The financing incentive wasn't announced yet, but I think they knew it was coming so they said my deal was including any incentives. I don't think Prestige is as aggressive as Park Ave, but I know people that have had bad experiences with dealing with Park Ave.

This was for an x30i. My full specs are discussed earlier in this thread.
