Submitted my build today.

'18 30i
Dark Graphite Metallic
19" wheels
Black vernasca
Fineline Cove trim
Executive/Premium/Convenience tiers
Driver Assistant/Driver Assistant Plus package
HK audio
Ventilated seats
Apple Carplay

MSRP: $57,975

With very little work negotiated to $48,700... or $51,400 OTD in Virginia. This includes $500 USAA and (I believe) 2k rebate, the rest is dealer discount. Multiple dealers in the state got within $100 of this as well as one in Maryland. I'm happy with that price, not one to put myself or the dealers thru the ringer. Was honestly a little shocked how easy it was, helps to have around 15 dealers within 100 miles.

Anyone know if this seems OK or if I should push back on more discount? It's my first BMW so I can't get a loyalty discount. Any help would be awesome. Thank you!
I think you should push back. My M40i build was MSRP$57295
Dealer Discount $7000
Loyalty and Finance incentive $3000
Final Price $47295 with 0% financing.

Get a written quote from one dealer and ask another dealer to give you a better deal. You can also get a quick quote by calling the Internet sale in some dealerships. That's how I get the best price on all my BMWs.

Just about to take delivery of well spec'd X3 M40i, and I was told that notwithstanding what I was told in December, when we signed the contract and I put down my deposit, the dealer will not be able to give me 0.9% financing, and there are no financing promotions in January. Sounds as if they could have locked in 0.9% + financing promotions had they filed credit app in December, but they somehow failed to do so. Moreover, they're not willing to make it right economically (i.e., by reducing purchase price or increasing trade value).

Sigh.

This ordering experience has been terrible. I guess we'll wait a bit and then try again.

Sorry to learn of your troubles, edcrane. Quite amazing the variability between Dealerships it seems as I read of these experiences. Hope you are able to settle in with a facility you trust and can work with as I know you are looking forward to one.

Thanks for the thoughts. Sales manager says he's looking into what he can do to make this right. We'll see how this shakes out.

It's Global Imports, ask for Chris Byers, I choose performance center delivery. He should be able to give you the same discount.

Other manufacturer rebates could also be added after the 10% dealer discount, as long as you are qualified.

Is anyone getting these types of prices who is leasing? The dealers i spoke with said the incentives are only for financing, not leasing.

Finally took delivery tonight. Sales guys were basically the worst — constantly retrading and “accidentally” miscalculating every item. Incredibly painful experience—by the end, I got the sense that these folks would rob an old lady blind if the opportunity presented itself. But managed to get the car, and for that I’m happy. Hopefully ownership experience will be more positive than the dealership experience.

Right where I came in. Interesting. Some dealers would not touch it others would. I do not get it really.

My production is finished Feb 1.

Two dealers (one local, one in the SF Bay Area) would not get to that price but one did and they earned my business.

Here is the sticker:

Salespeople are there to extract as much money from you as they can.
That's their job. That's why I may be friendly with them, but I would never consider any of them a friend.
