Eventually got decent prices from paul miller, tenafly and prestige. A range of 6000-7000 off msrp with incentives and 0.9% financing. Problem with M40i is that there are fewer to go around. Some of the dealers I reached out to said they couldn’t get one. Others said they wouldn’t discount because they only had one allocation and expected high demand. At the end of the day one of the less aggressive dealers who gave me a better price on trade matched the best quote on the car, amd I did the deal with them.

My guess is that it will be easier to get a solid discount on a 30i, since there should be more supply.

Waiting on a response for one of the x3 at Beaverton, OR which is priced at $56,000. I am not sure if it is possible to drop it to $50,000 which I will buy then. The one in Bellevue seemed very rude because I am pretty young.. Hopefully the one in Oregon is actually a professional.
BMW Bellevue is a joke, do not waste your time in there.

Thanks everyone, very helpful thread. I'm going in to the dealer to put my order in tomorrow.

X3 M40i Build
- Alpine white
- 19" 698M w/ A/S
- Black Vernasca leather
- Alum trim
- Driving Assistance
- Driving Assistance Plus
- Parking Assistance
- Premium Package
- Adaptive M
- Apple CarPlay
- HK sound
- Space-saver tire

MSRP: $65,270

Dealer discount including incentives: $58,260

Only available finance option is 3.34%. I can't find anyone offering 1% past December... Thoughts on this? Good deal? Basically car at invoice and $2500 in incentives.

I’m surprised about the financing point. I was specifically told by Paul Miller, Prestige and Park Ave that they would lock in 0.9% for car ordered in December and delivered in January. I think this 0.9% is worth $2.5kish vs 3.34% (present value of the difference over 60 months). I don’t have visibility into how these financing promotions work from the dealers perspective, so don’t know if they are holding out on you or what.

Otherwise seems like a decent deal for an M40i.

On your build, note that exec package is only about $200 more, if you’re already getting leather and parking assist. Think that 200 would get you full digital dash and gesture control.

Whoa... THANK YOU for that tip off. I almost missed out on that entirely! Executive package is going on!

Yeah, I spoke to all of those NJ dealers and while their pricing was aggressive, their doc fees were significantly higher than those of NY dealers, so the prices pretty much evened out. That and they also didn't want to lock me into 1% past Dec... Bummed about not having that finance offer.

Here is my breakdown for the various parts of the Exec Package, based on what they cost as standalone options and differences between different packages.

Vernasca Seats and Ambiance Lighting____________________$1700
Parking Distance Control (incl with M40i)____________________600
Parking Asst Plus & Surround View_________________________700
Gesture Control & 12.2" Full Digital Cluster__________________150
Icon Adaptive Full LED Lights & Auto Hi Beam (incl with M40i)___350

Total Price for Exec Package on 30i_______________________$3500
Cost for Exec Package on M40i__________________________$2550

I decided not to do the package since I didn't think I'd get to use the Parking Asst Plus & Surround view that much and just wanted the Vernasca Seats/Lighting and the Icon Full Adaptive LEDs/Auto High Beam (which I could get standard in an M40i). But if you want the Parking Asst Plus, then getting the full package isn't too much more.

Yours works out to 10% off list......

"heaven" above was at 8%-9%

In another M40i post a guy close to NYC got 11% off MSRP.

and the there is Larry from TX who claims he got 18% off his M40i...but I can't find any numbers he posted to do the math.

Seems like 9%-10% seems to be average here.

Thanks everyone for posting your deals so I could get a better idea of what to negotiate for! As others have said above, local dealers here in WA were as unhelpful and unwilling to negotiate anywhere near what others are getting. Then again, there are very very few M40i's available for sale in the area.

Just bought this build from an out of state dealer:

Carbon Black Metallic
Mocha leather
Aluminum trim
Driving Assist
Premium
Executive
Wireless charing
CarPlay
H/K sound

Was looking for above + Driving Assist Plus and Adaptive M suspension but this is the closest I could find nationwide via cars.com search. Didn't want to wait for a custom order because the tax changes for 2018 will mean I wouldn't be able to deduct sales tax on this car anymore.

Anyway, not the BEST deal compared to above but I got -3500 negotiated discount and another -3500 in incentive/rebates for a total of 7K off on a 64k MSRP M40i from an out of state dealer. $0 out of pocket, 0.9% for 60 mo through BMWFS for a total of $1095/mo including the huge 10.4% state sales tax.

Happy hunting!

Still a good deal! And carbon black looks great! Had no idea any state had a >10% sales tax. That is brutal. Hope your property taxes are low.

Sure! -1.5K BMW Loyalty, -1K BMWFS and -1K USAA. Was told my 1K BMW X3 experience code was only valid at my local dealer, so not applied :/ Have to call and check on that unless any of you know different? Also if you don't get the USAA discount you might qualify for the BMW Club -$500 (not stackable) rebate.

i won't call larry from Tx a liar but his claimed price is more of the outlier. Somewhere around invoice plus whatever incentives you qualify for seems to be more of the norm which is around 10 percent.

I was able to use experience code (drive for hunger event) at another dealer. Even though this another dealer rejected it saying it has to be used only at the dealer who shared it, I pushed them and they accepted it. Not sure what is the norm for this rebate.

I bought a X3 30i on black Friday and got close to 16% off. Car is priced at 52k MSRP. $5500 dealer discount, $1500 corporate, $1000 finance, $1000 drive for hunger event. Final otd price in GA is 47k with 7% sales tax and $599 dealer fees.

These kind of deals do exist. The only negotiation i did is to push them to accept drive for hunger coupon which I got from another dealer.

Amazing deal. I looked at northwest, bellevue, and seattle. Will not move much so I called Beaverton, OR and gave me a price 6600 off straight for X3. Wish I had the knowledge and wisdom to get more off.. how did you land .9% finance? I financed theough bmw as well but got 3.78 60 months.. planning on changing to my bank after 3 months.

I didn’t do anything special... just what I qualified for I guess, but looks like so did many others here. The rate they quoted you sounds really high. They might the marking that up to the max allowed by BMWFS above even their usual 3.34% rate... but maybe not worth arguing if you plan to switch away from them soon anyway.

We all have it soooo good. My local (Germany) BMW dealership is shocked that BMW NA/MilitarySales is offering incentives on a brand new body style. They have an X3 waiting list ATM.

Getting this offer within reasonable driving distance. I'm waiting on final offers from 2 other dealers that I think will end up beating this but this one's not bad:

'18 30i
Mineral White Metallic
19" wheels w/space saver tire
Mocha interior
Fineline Cove trim
Executive/Premium/Convenience tiers
Driving Assistance Plus package
HK audio upgrade

MSRP: $57,320

I'm getting quoted $50k even for that, sans TT&L. This includes 3k BMWFS credit (new this month), $500 corporate discount, $500 USAA discount, and dealer discount. Out the door price looks like what I'd expect for TTL.

It's quite interesting to go thru this process. Some dealerships never even responded at all, others have salespeople that are comically bad at communication, and then there's a small number that are great to deal with and very professional/to the point.
