2015 X3 35i almost dies after start when cold out

My 2015 BMW X3 xdrive35i has a peculiar problem that I am hoping someone can identify. If the environment temperature is cold, freezing or below, the car starts right up then within 3 seconds the idle slows and the car almost dies then it picks back up and runs fine. This only happens in cold temperatures and only on first start of the morning (cold start). The car has just over 100K miles on it and is well taken care of. Always have run premium fuel and had regular service.

Mine did this until I replaced the high pressure fuel pump. Changed at around 140kms which is around 90k miles.
