After about 6 months my mileage has stabled off and it's 18.2 mpg (80% city/20% highway).
What really impresses me about the X3 is the transmission when not having "drivetrain" enabled in sport mode. The car coasts very easily, gliding effortlessly along the road; I think the farthest I've ever gotten was maybe about a mile or so and the meter was hitting blue the whole time, very cool technology at work. |

Got 46.1 mpg on last week's Leeds to Slough run (just over 200 miles). Couldn't ask for more, really, given that I was driving at "standard" motorway speeds.

I have a 35i in the US and with 200 mi on the car took an 1100 mi trip to Bryce Canyon National Park with 80% hightway (70 - 80 mph) and 20% mountain and dirt roads and averaged 23.5 mpg. This is with premium gas. I'm pretty satisfied with that.

I've just driven Manchester to Liverpool in Normal = 36.6mpg.
Liverpool to Manchester in Sport = 32.1 mpg. In Sport I drove a little harder but not by much. Real mpg (UK) :-)

Average over 7500 miles dropped slightly to 35.0mpg, my boss gets 32mph from his 40d X5 and drives with a heavy right foot

That is very good. I can't get more than about 42mpg on the motorway at about 70mph. Have you got run flats? I blame the staggered wheels!

To those who are just listing consumption figures: Your numbers would be much more valuable if you included your engine version if it's not already in your member's info. Thanks!
