Rear window heating element is the aerial.

Have you recently had a dash-cam fitted with rear camera, because they are known to create problems?

Has the DAB ever worked ? cant help notice you are in Scotland and Dab can be difficult or even missing in some of the remote areas . The Dab reception is normally only just adequate , my pals Jag gets Dab far better than my car . Also have you fitted any LED bulbs to reverse or stop and tail as that also drives Dab mad IE listening to radio and put the car in reverse and the Dab goes Off !

Sounds like they cannot be bothered, so giving you a silly price to look at it.

If you have "all glass" insurance, it may worth invoking that and "tapping" the rear window with a sharp object and claiming somebody hit it.

You aren't serious are you ? but going back to the original car Dab is only just adequate in these cars and the only way to reliable reception is a amplified external aerial such as this one .

No of course not. It was a tongue cheek comment.

The Dab is more than adequate. In fact it is excellent on my F25.

In the middle of the UK I get a full choice of stations, so I suspect you have a problem with your aerial (rear screen element) or perhaps the connection to it. Perhaps corrosion!

There are parts of the UK where the signal drops out and this is no fault of the car. Along the M40 near Banbury is one such place. Scotland is known to be bad. Not all areas.

I wouldnt be wasting money on extra aerials.......you might be disappointed.
