We revealed the BMW X4 to you yesterday and as you saw, it shares very similar styling to the BMW X3, in particular the front end styling. Here's a set of visual comparison images to show how the X4 compares to the X3.

Production of the X4 will begin in the Spring, after having its public debut at the 2014 NY auto show next month.

X4 dimensions:
  • Length: 184.3 inches (4,680 mm) (0.6 inches / 14mm longer than X3)
  • Height: 63.9 inches (1,624 mm) (1.5 inches / 37mm lower than X3)
  • Front seats sit 0.8 inches (20 mm) lower than X3
  • Rear seats sit 1.1 inches (28 mm) lower than X3

so the actual headlights to you get on the X4 are the ones on the white X4 which are exactly similar to the X3's....not the sexy ones on the red X4!

No.

The red X4 has the optional LED headlights, while the white X4 and X3 have regular xenons.

I like how the X-Series cars all look like trucks now instead of just looking like big luxury cars.

Yeah, M have been the prefeered styling, but the X line on the LCI X3 looks great imo..
I'll have that X3, over the X4

Wow I love that. I've always been more of a sporty type look guy. I don't care much for practicality and I love SUV's. Obviously this is a very idiotic statement but either way I think this looks amazing. However the X6 has a bit more exclusivity.

I wanted to like this so badly... but the wheels/tires make it look so puny... shape of the X4 Concept but without the meat in the wheel wells just isn't doing it for me.

For what do we need the x4? Who is gonna buy it??? - Girls?
The x4 does't hava a trunk and I think it is not comfortable to sit in the back like in x6. So for what is this car?
I think the x3 is a very good thing, but the pre-lci m-pack look much better.

I must be the only person left who actually prefers the Xenon look to the LEDs.

Also, I've just never understood the X4/X6. If you don't need the extra SUV size the X5/X6 bring.......just get the 3 or 5 series, not some "in between" vehicle that looks strange.

I am not sure about this X4. Riding in an X6 was pretty tight at the back, why would someone buy it and experience a tighter space than X6 ? Not bad on the style but X3 would be more practical like the X5 over the X6.

BMW needs to get a new official photographer. The launch photos on recent models have been of very poor quality and just don't seem to do a lot for the image of the vehicles.
