Smile Just completed DIY install - Thanks for a great post

My thanks to JDMASS for this nice post with pictures. I just completed my DIY install on my 2011 X3. The install took me less than 1.5 hours and did not required the tires to be removed. Thanks again.

Does anyone know if the mud flaps for the F25 LCI are different? Or will the current mud flaps fit?
Front part no.: 82162156538.
Rear part no.: 82162156540.
I thinks these are the part numbers for the F25.

Mud flaps fit just fine. I installed a set on our 2015 X3 28d.

Thanks.
I may buy some online. Accessories are so overpriced here.

We fitted the standard BMW X3 mudflaps on our M-Sport! The dealer advised us that they aren't recommended for the M-Sport but do just about fit. They even offered to fit them for us!

The M-Sport doesn't look too bad with mudflaps (I'd prefer not to have them) but are essential due to our rural location.

They keep the gravel off the paintwork and the car alot cleaner, even when we went off-roading! Apart from the dirty tyres, you couldn't tell we'd been through thick, wet mud!

A little additional info...

I just installed the mud flaps on my 2016 X3.

Thanks to the info in this thread it was a lot easier than it would have been following the BMW instructions.

A couple of additional comments if I may:

The screws are now T25 torx heads.

Also, I found it much easier to take out the old fasteners by drilling out the pins, and using a nail set in the hole to apply leverage to take out the rest of the fastener. No marks, scratches, etc. The BMW dealership installed my hitch and I had no trouble telling where they removed the fasteners.

Last, for the front flaps, I had an awful job trying to slide the clips up into the slits I made in the fender liner until I expanded them a little bit. I drew them together with the screw before I installed the mudflap.

Thanks again for all the helpful information.

The trickiest thing, for me, was getting the "screw receiver" placed in the fabric wheel well for the front set. I learned, after struggling with the first install, that one should spread the screw receiver apart a bit, otherwise, I could not get the fabric wheel well between it. After spreading it apart, the second one went easily.

After three years sitting on a shelf in the garage, I finally got around to mounting my mud flaps. Some good tips here and the OP's instructions are better than the original.
Not sure about the double sided tape, it may have gone off from sitting on the shelf. But once installed it's not too hard to take them off and replace the tape.
