Tire rubbing issue on X3 35i. Can someone help?

I recently purchased a 2011 x3 35i and when I make left or right turn the tire is rubbing. Seems to be coming from the inside wall. It has stock rims & tire size. Does anybody know whats causing this issue? can it be the suspension issue?

Is it rubbing on a mud guard or the under tray ? If its missing screws on the plastic under tray it might be hitting the tire at full lock.
At first I would have said maybe the tire size but you said the size is OEM size? 245/45/19 and 275/40/19 ? Is that correct?

Yes,OEM but not even 19s it's 245/50RF18 & it rubs not even at full lock.Seems to be hitting under tray & doesn't seem to be missing any screws.

I set up an appointment already at the dealership I bought it from. They said they'll take care of it but don't want them to take a cheap way out like adding spacers etc. if the suspensions are shot..

My '11 35i came with BMW type 308 wheels and 245/50-18 tires. I've never had any rubbing issues.

Is this what your wheels look like?

There is no reason that the tires should be rubbing then. Those are original spec tires and rims, so it's not like they were replaced with a different size or different offset. Something else is off, not the tires or rims.

did you get it from used car lot?

did you check VIN to see if it was involve in accident?

i would take it to BMW service dept. have them check it out.

do you have extended warranty?

Yes, purchased it from a used car lot. Checked the carfax report & no accidents. I did however get the extended warranty 3 years or 36000 miles. I'm bringing it back to the dealership tonight since they said they'll take care of everything.

Sounds really odd since there is so much clearance between tire and wheel well. Did you compare left & right wheel wells to see if they might be shaped differently like a bulge that shouldn't be there? My other guess was a bad joint or something but if there are wear marks then something must be hitting. I assume the rubbing sound changes pitch based on the speed you're moving when turning?

Thanks guys but another update.. what I thought was a tire rubbing issue it's something completely different. The shop said it was a loose rain guard & the problem was fixed but the problem still exists, When making a left or right turn there seems to be some shaking. brought it back to the shop & there going to run more tests & let me know whats causing this problem.
