Performance and handling: 35i, 20"

I finally got to evaluate a 35i with 20" and adaptive dampers.

First: exhaust sound is great! The looks from behind of the wide tires is impressive.

Engine performance is as expected - or better. Gearbox is a gem - both in auto and manual. You are always in "best possible" revs - at least in sport+ mode.

Steering feel/precision is as good as my SAAB 9000- which is not the case with 19" and no adaptive dampers.

Sport + makes the dampers go rigid - for better control, but does not make the vehicle uncomfortable - even on bad roads - although you can feel the bumps.

Comfort mode makes the vehicle soft and uncomfortable - on bad roads.

Overall it met my high expectations, and carbon black is beautiful.

The only thing to change is the ride height. In front the distance from tire to wheelhouse opening is 70mm - in the rear 80mm.

H&R has a springs to lower the body 30mm - that would be perfect. It will change the vehicle from a mix of SUV and coupe to a straightforward coupe.
