For those interested in this retrofit
Here another alternatives using android 9.0 and Idrive 7 https://ibb.co/GThq18D https://ibb.co/17SG6T4 For the second picture i would cover the plastic bezel with leather or carbon fiber vinil (or gloss black) for a better look. |

The only thing holding me back from doing this is my HUD...so far I haven't seen any retrofits that interact with the HUD...

All of the original NBT features will still interact with the HUD like usual, I'm pretty sure. Have you seen evidence to the contrary?

As for the NBT if using the OEM screen as the original poster is doing, my X3 is CIC, so not sure if NBT would talk to a CIC HUD or not. And there may be other modules a CIC vehicle may need other modules replaces as well to play nice with the NBT, like ZGW, ATM (according to one source. another one (Naviprof) says it should work but hasnt given details yet).

I had Huentrynav and retrofitted nbt evo, I have screen mirroring, carplay, bmw apps, currently I have retrofited the ATM but working only as GPS due to the fact that in my country there is not connected drive services. Now trying to make region change for ny NBT evo. If I had HUD sure it will work since I am using OEM parts. Of course it will not work with Android Units.

I wouldn't expect any Android based functions, including navigation, to interact with the HUD, but would expect all of the original CIC or NBT based HUD functions to work as expected. I have yet to see anyone in any forum say anything to the contrary. I searched this and other threads. Just don't expect HUD to display or interact with any Android based stuff.

for your info: I made the region change for navigation and now I have south america maps. It was difficult to get the navigation directions in 6wb. If you code the evo as F25 and the 6wb as F10 the navigations will not work. The solution was to code the 6wb and the nbt evo as F15. For 6wb It was necessary additional coding for tank capacity (66 liters) and all the sensor data as F25 instead of F15. By doing this the navigations instructions are shown in 6wb. I have read in several forums that HUD will not work in F25 and It think is linked to the fact that kombi is coded as F10 (or F15) and NBT evo as F25.

How does this fair against the OEM system for interface and reliability?
I just put an Avin Avant 4 in my E46 and it's err, ok. It can be a little fussy and is heavily reliant on having an internet signal. My daily is a 2012 X3 with the pro nav system and, tbh, it works. It always fires up, it always connects to satellites etc. I'm probably 80% in favour of OEM than Android at the moment but thinking maybe part of the problem with the Avin is that it's in a 17 year old car that wasn't built with moderninity in mind. |

I got a 12.3 inch made specifically for X3 F25 last month. I had to do some rewiring for the thing to work since my iDrive wasnt working when I installed it. I finally got instructions from the seller 3 weeks later after I pestered them for days.
Here is my review. I also included the instructions on the rewiring i did. After several weeks of agony, im really liking my car now. Last edited by Xavvi; 03-26-2021 at 12:52 AM.. Reason: typos |

Managed to find a RHD Screen mount and ordered screen from 4x4 Shop Canada, absolutely chuffed to bits with it, I have ordered som vinyl leather wrap and when it comes will attempt to wrap mount so it sits with OEM Dash.

Hi, sorry for resurrecting an old thread, but where did you get this from? Do you have a video of how it works? I'm looking for something similar for my f25 (2015) and this looks perfect!
