2013 X3 w/ CIC iDrive

I purchased an 12.3" android head unit from Autotop - a seller on Aliexpress. I followed their instructions and the head unit screen remains blank. The head unit is receiving power - the inside of the unit has a red light and the usb cords coming from the device charge my phone. Any ideas on what the issue could be?

Side info: I plugged the optic cables into the female connector that attaches the CD player, the cic adapter that connected to the factory head unit is flush with the connector. Not sure if the issue is the screen.

Were you able to resolve this?

The answer should be to check connectors. 2013 requires NBT connectors (6 pin lvds cable)
