BMW X3 3.0d Brake Energy Regeneration buttons

All,

I am on a market of getting a BMW X3 F25 3.0diesel and I have seen some with the big (wide professional) navigation but
they don't have the ECO Pro and SPORT buttons on the left side of the automatic stick shift?

Can these modes be activated from the iDrive? Are these buttons redundant or simply this feature is missing?

I have seen the opposite a BMW X3 equipped with the small navigation and the Eco Pro and Sport buttons present on the left side of the stick.

So will the BER (Brake Energy Regeneration) work if the buttons are not there and the wide navigation or if the buttons are there and the navigation is the small one?
Is BER dependent on how big the navigation is?

Thank you

The BER works no matter what buttons or navigation setup the car has. Some cars have BER shown in the instrument cluster. Mine did on my now sold 2013 X3 xDive 30d M Sport. The following link my assist you with some of your questions

Thank you.

Now I understand that all of the F25 have the BER as a standard feature.

However I still have the question will I be able to switch between the

Sport+
Sport
Comfort
Eco
Eco+

If the buttons are NOT there and if I have the small navigation

Look at these two pictures:
