Anyone upgrading to the new X3

Wondering if anyone is upgrading to the new X3 from the X4. Am on the fence on it or whether to wait for the new X4.

No - even if G01 is all new, and much better than current X3, itīs still a box!

I will, probably, "upgrade" to X2 35i M- due in 2-3 years. X2 happens to be my "dream concept" - a shooting break.

I have been monitoring X1 threads, and although there are some minor flaws, and no petrol I6, I believe I can live with a 300+ bhp 4 pot.

I would consider the X3M if BMW does not come out with a X4M. I am hoping the X4M rumors are true though.

Interesting views, the exterior is just too similar, interior much better, not sure it's worth taking the hit and upgrading to it now. Happy to see no more beige floor carpets for beige leather seats.

X4M is coming. Only reason it will not be made is if the X3M fails...which will not happen.

Lol...Box would be one of the last words I would use to describe a G01.

X2 M35i is in a different class and 3 years away so much may change. The 2 major issues that will plague this vehicle (X2) is that it is not unique enough compared to an X1 and that its FWD bias will be difficult to mask. That being said...X2 has the potential to be the ultimate urban SAV if BMW goes for it. Mercedes AMG GLA45 is top in class and as we can all see...they are way ahead in that segment.

Ofc not. X4 has the coupe body style where X3 has the shoe box body style. They are not the same, so no I wouldnt want to replace my coupe with a shoe box.

kozzi, I must admit that your pic showed a less boxy side of G01.

1. Resent patent pictures of El Cheapo X2, indicates that sideview - which is one of X2 concept:s strong points - will be maintained. Far from X1.

2 As I will wait for X2 M35i, I am convinced they will be able to sort out FWD-bias with use of AWD clutch system.

I like my petrol I6, but since I am raised with 4 pot:s, I can accept one once again.

I forgot: after looking at new E PACE, and found it- visually - a bit cramped, I went through material about F PACE, and found out it has:
-shooting break design - like X2
-all aluminium body
-"all" possible performance tech.
-250, 300, 340 and 360 bhp engines
-ZF 8-speed.

I am leaning on waiting to see how the new X4 looks, may change once i see the X3 in the flesh...like the interior upgrade...just bummed surround cameras not a stand alone option if you add with digital cluster its adds all sorts of things like TV from the German site we will see.

1 year and it appears it will be way more aggressive than the F26.

So we are looking late 2018 going to 2019 depending on engine choices, the new X5 should be out at the same Time then.

The current X5 is skipping the traditional LCI for the new G05 CLAR platform. This will be released 2018 as a 2019 model and will probably be released before the X4.

Glad Audi and Merc have taken the game to Bmw, now we can get better exterior and interiors..for a long time anything below 5 series got the short end of the stick.

+1

It's a shame BMW comes out strong and best in class...only to fall behind and play catch up.

I will probably wait for the new X4 or maybe an X6. Not a huge fan of the front end of the new X3, and prefer the fastback roofline in any case.

The more I look at th X3 the more it looks like the current one, think the M40i engine and interior got me all excited ...leaning towards waiting for the X4..hope Front is different too...choices choices
