I just recently bought my first ever BMW and I'm looking for reliable indy shops for both repairs and maintenance. I only found one that had good recommendations: California Star in Lafayette.

I also heard good things about High-Tech Auto in Redwood city... but it's far and it takes forever to take public transportation to get back to Hayward.

Any first-hand suggestions are welcomed!

Worth a try at Edge Motorworks in San Ramon...a friend of mine had his M3 serviced by these guys when the were located in Dublin.

I have had excellent service at BimmerOnly in Fremont, CA
They diagnosed an intermittent problem that the dealer nor another independent shop could. It took them 2 tries but they were persistent and didn't throw their hands up like the other shops.
They worked with my extended warranty company and were able to get things covered including a couple of things that were going to have problems.
Regular upkeep, they have only done my brake fluid which I remember it being a bit cheaper than I was expecting. They also will work w/ you if you bring in your own parts.

Note, I know Bryko is a shop in Hayward that is BMW specific but I tried to get info from them twice and they were incredibly dismissive on the phone each time.
