Tsunami has a delay on my delivery
I just had a email from my dealer asking me if I would like to change my order from 6nh Bluetooth w/o speech recognition to 6nk. According to him due to earthquake in japan BMW can not provide 6nh anymore. He said that BMW Belgium has no info about the delay if I keep my order.
I order my car in Jan and the delivery is forecasted in the beginning of July! I don't know what to do? |

Hi, although it doesnt affect me, my dealer in the uk mentioned this exact item today as being subject to a Japan related delay. So at least you know its probably genuine. Upgrade to Nav ?

Wake up to Money on 5live on Friday had a big segment on the effects of the Japan tsunami on the global car industry. UK can listen again on iPlayer but I think it's restricted to UK http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/console/b01042g4. I did try to upload it but it won't let me attach .mov files
Head of Bosch warned that supply problems could extend into the autumn. Toyota have suspended production at one factory completely for 8 days because of component shortages. Estimates of 5-10% drop in production output across the car industry. BMW weren't mentioned specifically but it seems likely all car manufacturers will be affected to some extent.
