BMW Link - iPhone App

Is anyone familiar with the BMW Link iPhone App? It's not available yet in the US App store. Looks fairly useful especially if you do not have NAV/Tech package. Where does the BMW Station attach? Is there any integration with iDrive and the dash screen?

Thanks,

Mark

The OP is referring to the BMW Link Europe app, which is available in the UK iTunes store. BMW Link Europe is not the same as the My BMW Remote app, which is available in both the US and UK stores. See the references to BMW LINK and BMW Station here

Here's a link to the BMW page that describes the app as well as a link to download the PDF documentation. It looks like the BMW Station is usable with vehicles without a screen (don't all X3s have a screen, some larger than others?), and the app supports Nav for Europe only. It's not looking particularly interesting to me, or particularly usable in an X3.

Here's a reason not to bother with it: It's 1.84GB!! I assume this is because of the free month trial of the nav which will then cost you about £50 to keep. If you have nav already I can't see anything of any benefit. If you don't have nav then maybe it's a solution providing the integration with iDrive is better than you would get with something cheaper (and probably better) like Sygic

Exactly what I wanted to know. Thanks for trying it and the feedback. Guess there is no point in pressuring BMWNA to bring it over.
