Martha Stewart Promotes BMW, Forgets American

Quote:
Martha Stewart Designs her own new BMW X3.

* 13.12.2010
* Press Release

Woodcliff Lake, NJ – December 13, 2010 Martha Stewart accepted BMW’s invitation to design her dream BMW X3 Sports Activity Vehicle using BMW’s “Dream It. Build It. Drive It.” program. Martha used the “Build Your Own” online tool on bmwusa.com to customize her own BMW X3.

Customization is a specialty for the new BMW X3, the vehicle has more than 70 million unique configurations. Martha Stewart designed her X3xDrive35i to have a Sparkling Bronze Metallic exterior, one of three special exterior colors that are only available for BMW X3 custom orders. Martha’s BMW X3 has a Sand Beige Nevada Leather interior and Fineline Wave Wood Interior Trim.

Recently, Martha and “The Martha Stewart Show” crew went to Spartanburg, South Carolina to watch the production of her BMW X3. Martha experienced firsthand where BMW makes all BMW X3, X5 and X6 vehicles for customers around the world and interviewed the people who make them. The last stop of the day was the BMW Performance Center where Martha tested out the Ultimate Driving Machine on BMW’s own track.

Viewers can watch Martha’s visit to BMW on Tuesday, December 14 at 10 am ET/9 c on “The Martha Stewart Show” on Hallmark Channel. During the show, Martha will get the keys to her very own BMW and viewers will be encouraged to keep watching the show to find out how to enter for a chance to win their own BMW X3.
Well, at least the BMW she's flogging is built here.

Go Martha!

She now needs to co-make a new MS/BMW clothing line to match her new x-ness!

Ten exterior colors, seven interior colors and 3 trims and she picks the base default configuration (beige, beige, fineline) except subs leather for leatherette.

Ooh what a visionary. Martha Stewart is a phony.

and yet despite this, you can't select a sports steering wheel with 309 alloys to have a car like one in all of the ads!!

I don't understand your title "Forgets American"? The X3 is build in the US by US workers. Is buying Chrysler still considered buying American when it is now owned by the Italian firm Fiat? I know they are also built in the US. I am just trying to make a point that both BMW and Fiat, aka Chrysler, supports the US worker by building their vehicles in the US. So is built in the USA not considered American? Hard to say with auto manufacturing and ownership being quite global today. Does it really matter?

Also; is there a Calgary in the US where you are from? I am aware of the one in Alberta Canada. If you are Canadian how can you say "is built here"? I know Canada is part of North America, but it is in no way considered American by either side of the border.

Yuck. I don't think BMW should have cooperated with her.Its a big turn off to me. I really like the X3, but this celebrity association is gross.

I thought that BMW was trying to position the X3 so it would be more appealing to males. Yeah, right!
