Wrong Trim on our new car!
So we ordered our car in May since we were relocating and wanted for it to be delievered on time. The car was delivered last week and although we had ordered aluminium trim with neveda leather and we got (light) wood trim which just does not look good with the nevada leather (at least we do not like it at all).
The dealership has offered to change the trim but I was worried the quality of the job would not be the same so I told him he had to either order a new car for us with the correct specs or offer us a discount. We had initially gotten $1100 off MSRP and now they are offering us $325 more and installing privacy glass for $225 (they claimed that this is their cost and that they usually charge $495 for this option). I originally wanted them to give us at least a $500 discount (not $325) so I was wondering what do you guys think of this situation? Would you guys have made them ordered a new car? Do you guys think this is a good deal? Thanks! Our car: - 2011 X3 xDrive 35i Ext: Jet Black Int: Leather Nevada Chestnut Int Trim: Brushed Aluminum Equipment: Cold Weather Package, Premium Package, Technology Package, Comfort Access Keyless Entry, Power Tailgate, Smartphone Integration and BMW All Weather Rubber Floor Mats. - Lease: 36mo, 12K, Monthly Payment $677.33 (0.00195 MF and 58% RV) |

Take their deal and let them replace the trim. If the job isn't done well, insist that it is. They repalce trim often. Shouldn't be a problem. Had it done on an earlier 3er with no problem.

Agree - I would let them replace the trim. Tell them up front that you will inspect the work with a magnifying glass and it needs to be perfect. Once you've set the expectation, they have no reason to be upset when you complain (if need be). That said, I would still tell them that you expect something for the trouble.

Let them change the trim and get a better MF. Mine is .00165 and I'm picking it up tomorrow.

Or, they should give you some sort of equivalent loaner. The discount they are offering is paltry. I think the privacy glass is standard on the 35i, so not sure what they are telling you? The right car will also be a 2012 which is better for a few reasons I wont get into here. This is a BMW, they should get it right. Make sure you get BMW Apps with the smart phone integration. I would also add the sport Package{SAP} added in the new order as well, as the Sport Seats are much better in my opinion. |

I did have the dealer change out the trim to the darker wood and they did a good job. Be aware they will have to remove/replace the interior door panels as the door trim pieces are screwed in from inside the door panel. I think one months car payment is fair restitution for their foul-up. |
