Mineral Silver last Saturday

Just love the car, still getting use to it, so different from the 335 I had. Got most the options including the 6NR, picked up the media adaptor today so haven't really tried it out, haven't tried a lot of things out yet, going to take some time.

Was going to get the black leather but wife liked the oyster, thought the black would be too hot in the summer. Pretty strong contrast but getting to like it more everyday. I really like the Mineral Silver, hard color to describe to someone, seems to change all the time.

Have attached a few pictures, wish I had time to take it someplace nicer than the driveway, another day perhaps.

The oyster looks a little lighter than it really is due to camera exposure to show the wave wood a little better. Note the cat, major reason I went with a light color. Cats love just washed / waxed black car hoods like my old 335i.

Looks great! I wanted to post pictures, but I live on a gravel road and it never looks that good! I have mineral silver w/ Mohave and wave. Mineral Silver is a fun color, your pictures do a good job of showing it transition from gold to silver.

You made the right choice with the oyster interior. It gives just the right contrast with the Mineral Silver and the black carpet. Very very nice. Enjoy that new X3 in all good health.

Congrats on the car, I should be driving mine by the end of the week. Your pictures are stunning, show off the car fabulously and I really like the interior leather colour. BMW should consider using your pics!

Please post more pics if you can especially of the wave wood trim and interior. I only saw this combo once in real life on a vermillion red and it looked amazing but it was someone elses car so I couldn't sit in it and check it out like I wanted. I went with this combo based on that.

Also I bet my config is very similar to yours. The only options I didn't go with were dynamic and heads up. Can't wait till mine is in the driveway, it's in production now.

Congrats again and thanks for posting!

If this was Facebook I'd click the "like" button!

Also ordered this combo. Like the waveline with the oyster, don't see that often.

and yes, more pics please!

Where did you get your cup holder inserts? I like how they look and it keeps those ugly "grips" from showing. My MS should be ready for pick up next week

I see from your metadata that you're shooting with a 5D mkII. Really well done, your photos.

I'm very impressed. I don't see this very often on the forums. You seem to as well have taken an interest in photography more than just having bought a fancy camera and not much else to do with it.

Try shooting in manual modes if the overexposure is a problem. The beauty of digital is trial and error.

Beautiful car. I see not an option you went without. Where did you get those cup holder inserts?

Thanks everyone for the kind comments, this is the best forum. I should be able to post more interior pictures soon, wonder if I should be putting pictures in the sub forum for pictures and videos?

The cup holders came with the car, thought everyone got them? Maybe the dealer just gave them too me with the floor mats, I'll ask, they call every few days to be sure all is fine with the car. Only one dealer in town but they act like the're competing against ten, really top drawer.

I've been doubting super long between the X3 and 5 series touring... eventually i bought the X3 ealier this week.
The following days I was stressed, still doubting if it was the correct choice... but now...

WOW, superbe! this looks so nice and clean, I'm in love! I had the same config ordered but with black as outside color. Me happy!

Enjoy your car mate!

PS: you photo's are indeed of good quality, i can't wait to see more!

Thanks so much, I have a nice camera and a few lens to go with it, would not consider myself a photographer though. I have a nice BMW but can't call myself a driver, but I work at it.

I have viewed you pictures of your Black X3s many times, love them. Your use of selective focus and shallow DOF is spot on and exposure perfect.

I need to spend more time with exposure settings, I over exposed the wide angle ones to bring out the wood, what I want to do is make a fw HDR pictures of the interior, but that will be some future weekend project.

The cup holders were there when I picked it up, maybe the dealer just gave them too me? I'll ask..

Both of you have inspired me to try to take better photos . I have the cheapest Sony DSLR but don't really know what I'm doing apart from fiddling with the aperture settings to bring the subject into sharp focus and make the background blurry
