going on 2 weeks now...still "scheduled for production, with not confirmed prod. date"... this sucks!!...in the past, when I've ordered, within 2 weeks, production has already begun!..

I guess this is what happens on new models?

they are still building over seas orders , until the end of Dec. starting Jan. they will biuld USA ones , they have a few on hand that will be going to the dealers ,will be there end of Dec. thats what was said as per my dealer , Park Ave BMW Maywood NJ , pretty large dealer .

ok patience running out....this sh*t still hasnt began production...still scheduled..been 4 weeks since I placed my order..maybe I should've waited a little longer.

I ordered a 20d from the UK on Oct 24. Only got a production week last Friday (5 weeks after it was ordered): Week 3. Delivery is "early Feb" but I think this will be mid Feb at best. Production to delivery should be quicker in the US because of the Atlantic!

Dealer called and said my X3 is in the production right now. He expects it to arrive in the dealership by end of this month. Waiting sucks.

I'm still waiting for a production week (been on order 4 weeks)!

When did you place your order? What spec did you go for?

If end of Dec is true ...congrats to you man!..not that far..from what I'm hearing from dealers, they're telling me the "official" release date for NA for this car is Jan 15....so cars would be avail AFTER that date..and I'm in the Atlanta area--so not that far at all from the factory...very frustrating wait time.

I did post on msg #13. I did order early Nov. It was dealer allocation. They changed one of their order to meet my specification. Most dealers will get 3-5 for showing. This dealer doesn't mind to sell one of their allocation. They only need 1 or 2 for test drive vehicle. I need the vehicle before January.

Hey is it true that you will get a DVD of your X3 in production when you get your car?
I read or heard somewhere that you get a DVD that you can watch with scenes of your X3 being produced down the assembly line. Pretty cool if it's true.

I ordered mine November 6th, asked my dealer couple days ago, got a bad answer that the car go in production in week 32, that is August!!! Almost a year from ordering. Hope they move production to China and speed it up.

No kidding! What is going on with that?!

What happened to the 1 week turn around I read about? US orders only probably, but still, even if was a bit longer and you add shipping time for overseas shouldn't add up to over 8 months of waiting....

I haven't even placed an order yet, waiting for some to show up at the dealer so I can compare, colors, interior options, test drive... make sure it's really the right vehicle for me and get the model I really want, etc... haven't even heard back from the dealer yet about when they'd get some models in, last I heard was sometime this month. I hope that's true.

Maybe they will be easier to order in the US, but if it's really gonna take that long to get one into production, and I probably wouldn't place an order till January at earliest, I might as well wait to order for a 2012 almost at this rate!

I took a look of my dealers computer, three green lights and august. He told me the first customer car be delivered in March and that customer had ordered his car in late September. But as i had experienced before they maybe come ahead after awhile.

Perhaps it is something to do with allocation of build slots for each country?

No, "normal" 20d, seems that all get their cars late. Took a look at the Spartanburg production figures, same figures for November as October strange, maybe they have some start up problems on the plant.
