Mine does. Might require Xenons.
It's a part of the Xenon package.

I've got xenons and I don't have rear DRL's - from what I've read it was disabled within the last year. All new X3's only have front DRL's.

If I'm wrong, would love to know how to switch on the rear lights as anything that improves safety has got to be a good thing in my book.

Do you have a 2011 X3? I have a 2012 35i and I don't have rear DRL.

What hard drive did you buy to do this? Let me know. I want to do the same thing.

I am still not able to receive emails in the car but, when this happens, I want to access them quickly and it's too many clicks away with iDrive.
I was pleasantly surprised that you can memorise the link to messages from the shortcut buttons. Now, messages is one press of a button away!

While I was at it, I also assigned the buttons to Bluetooth audio and USB audio but you can't assign to a particular song which is a shame since my daughter only wants to listen to one song all the time!

"Messages" is also a voice-command away.

Try this if you want to find out if all lights are working.
Specially when you buying car from somebody. Make sure, they didn't put a black tape on check engine light from inside.
That happened to one of my buddy...

What? I liked that feature on the Volvo XC60 I test drove (if you had high beams on and a car was approaching, the lights would go to low beam until the vehicle passed).

Most convenient feature is the auto tailgate.

I don't like the scroll wheel thing on the steering wheel to change radio stations. 2 reasons - one, it requires too much attention and delicateness to use (versus up/ down buttons) and 2 ) when I got the car it scrolled through preset stations, but now I did something and it scrolls through every station.

The scroll wheel will go through whatever you have set in the menu under Radio. If you select Saved Stations, this is what it will scroll through

I haven't seen this one posted. I am a new X3 owner and the vehicle has the technology package. I noticed at night that when I put the vehicle in reverse the fog lights come on which I assume is to aid when viewing the top view mode on the display screen.

Is this unique to my vehicle or has anyone else noticed this?

There are many things I like in my X3
In no particulair order

1. Comfort access.
2. Sport seats + heating
3. Lights around the door handles, rear foot wells.
4. Driving position.
5. How quiet it is.
6. Xeon's !!
7. LED rings on the headlights.
8. Multifunctional dashboard. (combox. I think it's called)
9. .......

But a little thing is the way the display between the dials changes colour when it gets dark, Day time = white, night = orange.

I don't know if its just my imagination, but when in sport mode and under hard acceleration, the transmission almost feels and sounds like a dual-clutch when using the paddle shifters. I hear a cool pop on shifts which wasn't present while driving in normal, and the gear changes are quick...Wasn't expecting that. I pretty much wrote off the sequential shifting feature as the typical slushbox manual mode that still feels like a slushbox when I bought the car.

The automatic shifts much faster than my TL-S which is suposed to have a sport transmission.

Fog lights turn on when turning.
Cool little light around speed gauge for cruise.
Base sound system better than expected.

One thing that caught my attention was how the you can use the idrive wheel to scroll through radio stations without actually selecting them. Kind of like an all-encompassing "seek" - it knows all the stations, says what they are "93.9 WYSP", really easier than presets IMO.

Certain features, such as closing the tailgate with the key fob, are not enabled in North America. I can't say for sure why, but speculation is that it's a legal decision, made by BMWNA, to prevent lawsuits in case an injury occurs. Your dealer isn't going to overrule BMWNA, and cannot and will not enable that feature for you.

Some posts here mention enabling the feature through coding.

Just noticed the fog light when turning on and I agree while the base speakers are not the best they certainly are not the worst I have ever heard.
