Ideas on touch up

Hi guys, well have had my X3 for about 3 months now. A week after having some time off work for Xmas, got it all Zaino'ed up and looking beautiful, someone scrubs into me As you can imagine not very happy. Haven't gotten a quote from the dealership yet, but I would imagine they would want to repaint the door and fender. I have ordered some touch up paint from them already to repair 2 paint chips I noticed when I cleaned the car all up.

Would like to hear thoughts from people if anyone has been through this before as to whether I should leave it alone, try and touch it up or if you would have the dealer repair it. I just would hate to have the door and fender stand out as it has been repainted if they were to want to do that to fix the damage.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

In the UK we have specialist minor repair companies one of which is called "chips away". I believe this is an American owned patented system using equipment designed for repairing such minor "dings". Local people receive training and run franchises using vans which do all the repairs at either your home or at work. I have experience with them an know of others who have used them and all have been very happy with the results. It is often far more cost effective to use such companies when taking into account insurance loss of no claims or excess charges. Depending on how good you are with touching up should help you decide but I know that I would want a perfect job done. It is after all a premium car, best of luck.

take it to someone who works on bmw, a good way to screw up a expensive car is to try it yourself or take it to melvin at the local garage who hasnt graduated high school yet.

Thanks for the info. Looked into it and found these guys. I can get a quote from them locally.

Does anyone have an info on this company? Anyone had to use them before?

Thanks for the help.
