Don't blame the poor dog for being frightened when lightning actually hit your house....that's scary stuff. My dog (a Sheppard/Rottie cross, now deceased) was so terrified of thunder that he literally go crazy when he heard it (and dogs hear it well before we do!!). One time we were walking up in the hills above where we lived, he was off-leash, and a big thunder-clap occurred. He took off running, wouldn't come back to my call. I found him cowering under the rear of my SUV. That was after he had tried to get in the rear door, all 4 side doors, and even up on the hood.

There was $2400 in paint damage from his claws!! Fortunately not a BMW!! Insurance paid all by the $200 deductible. He was super-afraid, for sure.

Hey Want...what tires are you planning on getting to replace your LS-2s?

I don't blame her. I was home at the time, so I know how loud it was. The worst part is that she wants to go outside.

Our power is still out and Consumers Energy is saying it will be restored by Thursday afternoon I'm having flashbacks from the ice storm this past winter when we lost power for 3 days. We've got a generator running a few things thank god. I went out once things settled down and couldn't believe the amount of trees and power lines down. It looks like a tornado came through here. Nuts. How'd the dog do?

Hope you get your power back soon. My dad is retired from Consumers and spent many hours repairing the damage after storms. Now they have mostly contractors. My dog weathered the storm and was fine when I returned home.

What tires did you end up going with? Did you purchase them through the dealer or somewhere else? My dealer is going to swap my 308's for 309's this week. They are coming with the LS2's. Wondering if I should locate some other tires so I can swap them right away. Did you have any problems with them on the loaner or are you just concerned about the reports? How were they on wet roads? Also considering keeping the LS2's and buying 18" wheels with snow tires.

Let me know how they turn out...I had my choices narrowed down to the DWS or the P-Zero Nero A/S. I went with the Neros because they were rated slightly higher in dry handling/steering response. Also, I had heard the DWS have softer sidewalls, and they came in a 98 load rating. The Neros had a 102 XL load rating, which is the rating of the stock tires. I thought this might be a better fit for the X3 than the DWS...but I would still like to know how they work for you. It was a very, very tough decision.

Yeah, I was down to the same 2 choices as you, but went with the Conti's because they had such great reviews for snow. With living in Michigan in a snow belt, I needed something that would give me as much traction as possible. I would have gone with the P-zero's if I lived somewhere that didn't get much snow. Let me know what you think of yours as well!! I'll keep you posted!

Haha, looks like we were both thinking the same thing! Being in TN, I didn't have the need for the excellent snow traction of the DWS...if I was in MI, I would have gotten the DWS too. I will definitely keep you posted...the P-Zero's get mounted July 23rd.
