Car shutting down?

After starting my car in cold start,
Backing off my driving way, when I press my brake, after 2 secs after starting the car, it goes to neutral the it shuts down.

I'm in comfort mode, ASS off,
And I updated the ASS mode 3 months ago.

Wondering if its just me ?
Or it's the cold weather.

I too have had this happen twice on a 2013 x3 2.8. I wasn't sure if it was a combination of the brake and reverse, but it ends stalled and in netural.

think you got to give it a few second, oke a minute or two for things to warm up adn get engaged. trans oil can get a bit sluggisy and perhaps put too much strain on whatever and kill it. let it sit for a minute or two before pulling out

What the dealership told me is when it is really cold it needs time for something to engage and some pump to start. I think its some water heat pump but I can't remember exactly what they said. Just give it 30 seconds and it should be fine.

Seems like something that would be in the Owner's Manual, otherwise I would question it as BS.

Its very cold here in Calgary and I have never seen this happen. I always let the engine idle down from the initial higher-rev start sequence before pulling away.
