Im really disappointed in the tires that came with my 2015 X3 msport, Eagle LS2.

i check their rating on this tire its horrible for such an expensive vehicle. Why couldnt they stick with Cint P7 grand touring all seasons.

Cause Cintuarto P7's are even worse... Eagles (3rd Gen) are by far better!

Ditched my LS2's and went with Conti Extreme DWS and LOVE them. 10x's better than the POS LS2's.

I replaced mine with Bridgestone RE960AS RFT tires (19" square setup) and the ride is considerably better which I chalk up to the 3rd gen. RFT technology. Note that those tires carry a lower load rating than the LS2's but Tirerack said that they're fine since they are rated for over the gross vehicle weight of the car.

I am taking delivery next month and looking at an immediate switch away from the run flat tires. Anyone running pilot sport 3 summer tires?

What size do you need? In the 245/45/19 I'd go with the Pilot Sport A/S 3 over the Pilot Sport 3. Or you can move to a 255/45/19 and get the Pilot Super Sport.

Have a look at the Bridgestone pole position tires on the Tire Rack.

I agree with this statement 100% - All-season is NO SEASON.

My 2015 X3 will be arriving at the end of the month with LS2's mounted. Is there anything I can do to "trade" them? I don't want to pay full price for summer tires and just throw out the expensive, but awful, LS2s.

Has anyone found a way to "trade" the tires in for other ones? Either through BMW or a 3rd party?

They're good but have high wear and known to bubble within the year.
They're not as good as DWS in the snow.
My pal fazman swears by them.

This is complete BS, what would you run when it -7F one day and 60F the next or do you swap wheel sets every other day?

The whole point of an "all season" is it gives you a wide temperature range to use the tire, which is what something like the Pilot Sport A/S 3 excels at.

Discount Tire will give you a some money when you trade in tires, but you don't get much. It's better to keep them in the basement and put them back on when you trade it in, then you're back on run flats which most dealers like anyway.

Give the Toyo Proxies ST II a look. I've done the DWS as well, and prefer the Toyos.

I suppose you are right that in some places if snow isn't a big deal and there are massive temperature swings.

But if you live somewhere it snows often, and doesn't hit anywhere close to 60 in the winter, it's another story. If you actually drive in snow on a regular basis, having snows makes a huge difference.

You also forgo the benefits of real summer tires in the summer.

Also, thanks for the idea to store them. That might actually make good sense in the long run.

All seasons over the sports, interesting. I also hear good things about the continental 5 ????

We don't get much snowpack during the winter, it'll snow in the morning and melt in the afternoon. I've had the A/S 3s in pretty heavy snowfall when I had to make an airport run for a friend and they did fine though.

Forgot to mention when storing them, if you're planning on keep the vehicle for a long time, it's doesn't make sense to store them. But switching out every 3-5 years, you don't have to worry about the rubber degradation, just put them in plastic bags in a temperature controlled environment and you should be good.

My Latitude Sports are sitting in the basement with roughly 100 miles on them, the A/S 3 is a better tire in every appreciable measure. Unless you plan on tracking your X3, I really don't believe you'd notice the difference between the performance of the Super Sport or the A/S 3, other then the Super Sport wearing out more quickly.

To be clear: the Michelin Pilot Sport All-Season 3 completely blew my mind through the autocross when stacked against stiff summer-performance tire competition. The Michelin shouldn’t have won – but it did, and by a good margin. Unreal. It was very un-all-season-tire-like; as the old adage goes, “put that in your pipe and smoke it.”

Why not just order the staggered 19" with P-Zeros? Would save you a boat load of money if you plan on switching anyway.
