Tires for your X3?
Hi,
I have a few questions regarding tires on our X3. 1. What brand/model is your original OEM tires? 2. Can we NOT use run flat tires on our X? 3. What brand/type/model would you recommend for winter tires? 4. Any suggestion in terms of brand for run flat?

I will check the threads on winter tires. Thx! Not sure if I really need winter tires, but definitely want to do my homework before the winter comes. |

SAP is the "Sport Activity Package" and 309 is a model/style of BMW wheels. Also like you've said it's good to do your homework before winter comes because a awd, fwd, or rwd car is only as good as the tires it's riding on. It doesn't matter how many wheels or which wheel power is sent to, slipping is slipping.

Didn't see that no one answered your earlier comment.
There is no place for you to put a spare so if you want to use non-RFT you either have to give up some trunk space or have AAA on speed dial. Not having space in the trunk for a spare is the main reason why so many members aren't switching out their run flats for conventional tires. |

If trunk space is a serious issue for you, its better you get run flats. Personally, I prefer run flats since I can atleast drive to the nearest place to get a tire and not be stuck on the shoulder in the winter.. winters here r severe!
