Headlights have mind of their own (Video)

Anyone ever experience this before? I thought it would be a dead battery so we replaced it with a new one a couple weeks ago.

The car would drive fine for the first five minutes in sub-zero temperature and then suddenly the headlights will flicker on and remain on regardless of the headlight switch position (i.e. auto, off or on)

I haven't experienced this in temperatures above freezing. It is driving my father and I nuts because we can't figure out what is causing this or how to repair it.

Thanks.

Thanks, that seems logical to me. I am sure I can source one easily, it's just how to program it onto the car.
I called BMW and they quoted me $199 for the programming.
I have the cable to connect to my car and have INPA. I wonder if it can be done through INPA.
Can this for sure be done with BMW carly app for the iphone?

Update:
Found the issue. Three weeks ago my father found the the floor under the seats was wet! We had a bad rainstorm around then. He went to autozone to get some DIY seals for the door cards and doors. And dried out as much as he could with a towel and then a blow dryer. He drove the car with full blast heat at the feet until everything was dry.
No more issues!!!!

Will monitor over time and report back.

Just wanted to update that the headlights are still working fine.

But we experienced an unrelated electrical problem with the car misfiring and not starting that we have had for years. Turns out the ground cable underneath connected to transmission case was rusted green. No good ground connection means no proper current path.
We replaced that ground cable with a new BMW Genuine one and the X3 is working perfectly the same as day one!!

Check your grounds and replace when necessary! I will post pictures and start a new thread to help others if they have this issue too.
