Hi, im renting a 2012 BMW X3 for a vacation I have planned. I was wondering, would the cargo area (seats up) be able to accomodate 5 standand suitcases? I think the X3 measurement were something like 26 cu ft of cargo space.

You should manage to pack five average bags without the roller thing in place.

You should be able to accommodate 5 average suitcases w/o folding down the seats, although rear visibility would probably be poor. Will you have 3 people sitting in the back or only 2? Its possible to do a 40/20/40 split with the X3.


For reference I recently helped my folks reorganize their office and was happy with how much stuff the car could hold. I folded one front and middle seat and was able to haul 13 15x12x12 boxes and 8 of those white boxes.
