I don’t agree that it is soley due to road salt or normal wear. As I mentioned previously, I take excellent care of my vehicle & any road salt is washed off asap. I just noticed this last summer. I’ve been paying attention to other bmw rims. Rims on much older vehicles are not doing this. My opinion, this is substandard quality for bmw. I’ve been a bmw owner for 20+ years. Going for oil change today & will address this. I don’t expect new rims as my X3 is a 2016, I also don’t agree it’s my full responsibility to pay to have this fixed. In reading other posts it’s a manfuctering defect.

Yeah I have the 310M's and mine are also corroding near the center emblem. The car's been in South Florida it's entire life aka no salt roads. At first I thought it was something stuck on the wheels from the tire shop but I'm realizing its corroding.
