Got my new X3

Minerial Silver (I'm loving the colour)
Premium Hifi
Convenience and Premium package

Have put 650 miles on it in the first week, now have to make sure I don't go over my 3 year lease quota.

What I love so far -

- Interior, although I'm wondering whether I should have got the sports seats for the extra adjustments and tightness

- Handling: took it along some country roads and freeways and handled all well

- The power, although I haven't given it a real boot full yet

- USB connection to the stereo. I have plugged in a 140Gb Hard drive with 20K songs and it can play randomly across all the albums.

Complaints so far?

- The lag on the accelerator when starting from a stop. It's very much stop or go flat out.

- Had three people stay with us over the weekend and while carting them around got a few complaints about the middle seat in the back. But its rare that we use that seat anyway so I'm not concerned (plus I'll be driving :-)

- So far getting about 22mpg on the open road with five adults. Will be interesting to see how that changes with only two of us and the engine wears in.

- used the aux port to plug in my iPad for people to watch movies and there was some background hiss (although didn't increase in volume as the sound was turned up). Not sure if its the cable, ipad or stereo.

Overall, very happy with my first BMW.

Congrats PGB!

Which engine did you get, 28i or 35i?

The throttle lag is supposed to be a fuel saver. I didn't notice it in my test drive. I drove the test car hard so it could be why I didn't notice it.

Do you have a sports mode option? It supposedly changes throttle response along with shift points. Some people say that gets rid of the lag.

I bought the 35i.

I didn't buy any of the sports extras so its standard in that regard.

Its annoying but doesn't impact things dramatically.
