Pano Moonroof Operation Quirk, Think I Am Going Crazy..
Since its spring now, been using the moonroof again, and I swear the operation has changed since it went in for service.
When the shade is open and you press the button in to tilt the glass up, I swear if you flicked the button forward it would close the tilt then close the shade? But now if I do that, the glass remains tilted up and it starts closing the shade. Only way to close the tilt is to press the button in. In my E60, if its tilted and I flick the button forward it closes the tilt. Am I going crazy to think a software update changed how it operates? |

I used mine this weekend and found pushing the button up will move the shade back and lift the window. Pushing the button fwd closes both.

If you had any software updates on your vehicle since you last used your sunshade, the update can change the way it is programmed to operate. The last software update I had done changed mine.

Talked to my SA today and he said if the roof is tilted up, pressing button forward should close the tilt and then close the shade.
He suggested recycling the moonroof system. With car on and in park with roof/shade completely closed, press and hold in the button that would ordinarily open tilt, the system will go through all open close operations and then completely close, you have to hold the button in the whole time. Will try this tonight. |

For my 2013 X328i, roof automatically shuts at the same time when shade is closed. Have you reset/reboot the mechanism and is it all sorted out now? |

I did reset the system. I think theres a 95% chance my wife and I are mistaken how it use to work. This is what is does now, if roof tilted and shade is fully open and you press the button forward it closes the shade almost completely, if you press it again it will close the shade completely and close the tilted roof. We thought it closed the roof first/while closing the shade from the fully open position, as every other BMW I've been in does that.

Was just at the dealer for final covered oil change and told SA how so many people are upset how it acts with the reprogram. I dont think they can switch it back. Will be interesting to see if you get anywhere with this. Yes I agree its completely wrong and hate it also.
