2013 X3 35i Drivetrain Malfunction

What a nice Mother's Day. My wife doesn't make it 75 miles on the vehicle before breakdown. This is her 4th BMW but the first without a manual transmission.
As We waited for the tow, stuck in neutral in a dangerous place, I joked that she should have bought the Lexus. She did not appreciate the humor.

When you say "breakdown".. Can you elaborate? Could it have been a computer error.. X3 is full of systems monitored by a computer.. That could have erred? Mine warned a chassis destabilization 4x4 error. Turned veh off and on and error went away.. Has not come back ...

Sorry to hear about your troubles. Please let us know what the issue actually was as it is not a common issue for X3s to just "break down" and be completely non-functional, no matter how new or old it is.

Yesterday, my wife was expecting an update form the BMW dealer on the status of her X3. She does get a call from BMW on how happy she was about her recent X3 purchase. She told BMW she expected more than 75 miles out of a tranny on a $60K vehicle.
