removing centre trim

hi there

anyone know of any video of how to remove centre trim near gear shift

need to replace our aluminium look and hand brake button

got the parts coming on there way just need some reassurance

From another forum site:

Clips hold it in. Just use a plastic pry tool to pull it straight up. Don't use a screwdriver our you will almost certainly damage the trim. Start on the side of the trim, near the back where the trim meets the storage area under the center arm rest. The button module next to the shifter and the idrive controller are both secured to the underside of the console trim via screws so once you detach the trim, you will need to unplug the wiring harnesses from those modules before you can completely remove the trim.

thanks guys


lurcher saw that thread but there was no pictures

managed to get it done on Saturday with no issues other than a poor bank balance for the alum trim peie and the electronic handbrake (small crack bmw fault )but still needed to pay full price


got the drivers door trim also but it looks like its secured from the inside door

so need to remove the door to replace trim
