F25 Shock absorber replacement Rough Ride
Hey all, I recently replace all 4 shocks since as one was leaking at 75k miles on a 2017 X3 3.5i. This is a non sport model/non dynamic suspension control. I used bmw original branded shocks in the real and OEM in the front (all part numbers match non sport model). It's also sitting on brand new Michelin Primacy non-runflats that supposedly have a smooth ride.
I've noticed the ride quality has not returned to "factory smooth" and is quite rough, I feel every bump now almost as if I have sport suspension all of the sudden. Has anyone experienced this firming up after shock replacement??? I can imagine that worn out shocks would probably be a little mushy and that there would be a contrast in ride after replacement but was not expecting it to be this rough/stiff. |

Did you replace any of the bushings too? Did you inspect to make sure none of the springs were cracked?

You indicated new tires. Have you checked for proper inflation pressure? I recently bought new tires and found the mounting shop inflated all of them to 47psi.

Highly unlikely but I wonder if the mismatched oe vs oem hardware is causing an issue.
