Detailed F25!

We had two dry days here in Portland, so I decided to detail the new car. Took about 12 hours total. To wash, clay, polish and apply three coats of wax and a sealant. Looks pretty sharp though!

12 hours!!! Great effort. Looks awesome. That background in the first picture reminds of me of the start of the Wizard of Oz film - but you're a long way from Kansas!

And Man City won again!

D'oh! The game hasn't aired here yet!

Did you see Liverpool slaughter United this weekend? Made me so damn happy.

Thanks for the comments everyone. I'm a little manic when it comes to a proper detailing. The car sorely need it though. I find that three layers of paint protection (two of Zaino and one of Swissvax) last about two and a half months.

Beautiful! X3 looks great in Alpine White. Great job on the detailing, and great job on the photography.

The car looks AMAZING!!!. Nice job! What did you use on the interior? Any suggestions. I am going to try the Zaino products on the outside, but not sure what I want to do with the inside? The textured top of the dash seems pretty unique and I want it to look as good as your exterior does.

I thought the pics looked a little unnatural colour wise but great nonetheless.

You did a right proper job. My wife goes nuts when I wash, glaze and wax the car. If I then add a sealant........my life is over

I typically buy Einszett and Wurth products for interior detailing. They seem to be the best from my experience.

I couldn't help adjusting the tones a bit. I've been working in print advertising too long.

For the wash:
Zaino soap
11 micro fiber towels (one for each body panel)
Two buckets with grit guards (one bucket for soap, one for rising)
Eight large waffle weave towels for drying

Polishing Prep:
Wolfgang Clay Bar & Clay Bar Lubricant

Polishing:
Menzerna Power Gloss Compound applied and removed with Flex Rotary Polisher and Lake County pads

Paint Protection:
Two layers of Zaino Z-2 Pro applied by hand and removed with the Flex polisher
One layer of Swissvax Blau-Weiss wax applied by finger tip and removed with micro fiber towels
Mother's Back to Black trim cleaner and protector

Interior:
Einszett Plastic & Vinyl Cleaner
Wurth Rubber Car Gel Stick
Various brushes and q-tips to clean in all the cracks

Wheels:
I actually remove each wheel to clean and seal them properly. But I only do that about twice a year. Usually a good wheel brush is enough to clean them properly.

Wurth Clean-Solve applied with wheel brush and badger hair brushes around the lugs and removed with steam.
Collinite Metal Wax applied and removed with the Flex polisher

That's about it. Like I said before, it takes about two days to do it right. But it's really worth it in the end. If you follow my method, be prepared to be very sore for a few days.
