Vehicle locator

Anyone having a problem using the vehicle locator function with the BMW remote app? I keep getting data transfer failure.

I assume you are using the iphone remote app. Where are you and where is the x3 in relation to a cell tower? If either are not within reach, data will not flow through the network. There is also a limit on how far you can be away from the x3 before it gives the location. This is for privacy purposes, but I think the app gives you an error message explaining the limitation.
