X3Man, You got a very beautiful car indeed. I orderd my X3 in December 2014 (around 15th), but have to wait until march or april 2015.....
Well I live in Europe, and all X3's are made in Spartanburg, so maybe Europeans have to wait a bit longer...
I ordered a Melbourne red X3 with X drive and X line trim.
Is yours also X line ? I think so, cause I will have the same wheels.

Hi Andy. I am glad to see somebody else also likes red!
At the local dealer they only had black and white cars. Than I drove to another dealer 80 km further, but again, only black, white and grey cars to view. So I ordered the melbourne red without having ever seen one in reality ! But my wife wanted a red one... than what could I do ?
She saw the colour on youtube and wanted it. Now I just hope it won't disappoint me in reality...

this is the video my wife saw . Than she wanted the melbourne red.
I still am not convinced, because I also read here somewhere that the metallic paint does not seem really metallic. Maybe it depends on the sunlight ? In the video the colour looks stunning though !

I ordered a black interior, because we got a dog (American Bulldog) , and I was afraid the beige interior would get dirty too quickly, also because of the winters we have here, and than you get in and out the car with dirty shoes etc. But maybe I'm wrong about that. Anyway, the combination red/beige looks great in this video.

If you do a search on YouTube for rpm 292 BMW X3 there is a great review of a red one with lots of shots that show the colour off really well

It is a lovely colour in real life very deep and lustrous

Having seen an X4 in it and numerous 3 series I don't think you'll be disappointed

Funnily it was my wife too that fell in love with the colour first

Don't want to cause alarm but just ordered an LCI MSport and when I asked the dealer what colour was likely to have an adverse affect on residuals--guess what he said?

Of course. That's what all the dull and stiff salesmen in suits tell you. That's why only few have courage to follow the heart and go for the red one.

Besides....women love red. It's the colour of love.

Of course that is just one persons opinion

I had a crimson red E90 .. Fairly bold move when at that time all of them were silver grey or black.

I got nothing but good comments about it and when I traded it in I got more for it than if it had been silver grey or black

I fact the dealer showed me the line of 3 series outside and every one was dull. He said he would have no problem selling it.

In fact it sold the day they advertised it and when I spoke to him he said they could have sold it ten times over

He did say that most new buyers follow the herd but that the red ones, few and far between though they are sell really well second hand.

I have spoken to a couple of dealers about the red X3 and again they have said it is a bold move but that the car does look very good in Melbourne red and that there would always be a market for it.

I did consider changing it to space grey but my dealer said there is no need as it will sought after second hand.

My local dealer had a Melbourne red X4 and a Melbourne red X3 both sold immediately and the sales guy said he was taken aback by how popular they were and the positive comments about them. He said that very few new F30's are ordered in red but when they get them in second hand they sell immediately often to people who travel to get them.

But the bottom line is buy what you want and like ... Personally I'm just bored of black, grey, white

When I went to the BMW dealer, the guy also said that melbourne would be the nicest colour to chose, but people are afraid of it for resale. The dealer said I should NOT be scared that I could not sell the car in a couple of years for there are indeed buyers who will travel far, just to pick up a red one (especially metallic).

I love the red, my last car was red A6 therefore didn't go for the same again. As for selling mine sold the 2nd day after adverting for full price 2k more than what the dealer offered me.

Realizing how lucky you are getting it so quick. I'm STILL waiting on an order, much less the build! No word from my CA yet. They just keep telling me that it's the hottest selling BMW right now and therefore the hardest to get. I'm not feeling much love for someone dropping almost 60 large at their dealership.

So in the mean time, help a brother out with some mocha interior pics!!!

Love it! Thanks man! I texted my CA today and no reply...avoiding bad news lol. I guess I'll get an allocation in February but not sure how long it will take. Keep the pics coming!

I ordered mine 01/31 and it is now under "Step 1 - Production Begins". Does anyone know how long will it take from this point?
Thanks.
