About to order my X3 30d

Hi All,
After weeks of deliberating what I would buy, the 5 series or the X3 I've finally decided to go for the X3, despite the long waiting times and Inferior build quality.
The X3 seems to fit more with my lifestyle and seeing my age it will also cause me less strange looking or jealous people... the 5er is more a directors car in my opinion. Working as consultant, being only 31 years old I don't want to kick my customers in the balls by arriving with a more expensive looking car than them :-)
I've done again a test drive last Saturday and I loved it, I really pushed the car to its maximum and tested some of the off-road capabilities, they are awesome!

The only bad news is the waiting time: ETA 16 Jan 2012

I selected the following options, please let me know if you think I missed something interesting!

outside: Saphirschwarz, Wheels 309 19", high gloss shadowline, no x-line, no roofrails
inside: Nevada Oyster, Fineline wave

options:

- Internet
- Apps
- pro sound system
- Pro navigation
- Dynamic Damping Control
- M sport steeringwheel
- Performance Control
- Model designation deletion
- Towbar (Fully elec.)
- ex mirrors, folding, auto dimming
- Panoramic glass sunroof
- sun protection glass
- extended storage
- light package
- automatic airco
- xenon headlights
- Seat heating

I might have forgotten some but this are I think the most important ones

I can't wait to drive this baby around! I'm going to check some dealerships tomorrow to make sure I buy at the one who has the possibility to deliver the quickest but it doesn't look good... the date I got at my dealership yesterday was 16 jan 2012

Presume you tested a 2.0d? Not heard any 3.0d test drive reports yet, but would be nice to hear about the 3.0d.

Correct mate, sadly there are currently no X3 30d available for test driving here in Belgium... not even at the Belgian head office in Bornem :-(

the 20d was a bit slow but still acceptable... owboy this 30d is gonna rock!

Wow january, the patience

I've told my dealer that if my delivery gets postponed/delayed from the promised week 26 delivery date I'm canceling and seeing it as a sign to get that S4 I've been looking at

Hence my order too! Should be an absolute blast, whilst conforming to all legal and safety requirements naturally. And as for the 6cyl soundtrack .....

Congrats and very nice spec/engine choice (wish I had waited for the 30d)

As a Director myself in my early thirties I would see the 5er as a Sales Managers car especially the diesels and if your worrying about customers comments then I think they will be equally impressed/jealous with the X3 as they will no doubt mistake it for a X5.

Most BMW's portray success and IMO are not too flashy in the business world.

It's a pity that the registration in Belgium of a 30d is € 5000 ,
also the yearly tax is more than € 800.
A 20d is € 1250 and € € 380, that's why the most ones are the small engine in Belgium !

They have a special version with reduced power, my 30d will be 2500€ indreef of 5000€ taxes :-)

Only disadvantage is the top speed, 210 indstead of 230km/h, 0-100 is still 6.2 seconds :-)

I've phoned some dealerships, pushed a bit for an early date and guess what...? I'll drive my new baby around in September 2011 already! :-)

Good work but a word of caution on that estimate. You wouldn't be the first to be given an optimistic delivery date, particularly given the initial January date. Expect Jan and if it comes any earlier, it's a bonus

My dealer phoned my yesterday to inform me that my car will arrive early. According to his explanation it's bacause the 30d is not that much sold in Belgium and they found an open slot for it... It will now arrive early August!
(If I would have bought a 20d the data would have stayed the same, in best case)

If this is true, then this dealership has a new fan in their club :-D

Yes, I received my VIN number, entered it into the tracking website of the transport company and discovered my car is already on its way to Bremhaven and Antwerp!
ETA for Antwerp is 30/06/2011, that's even 1 month earlier than my most positive forecast!
I wonder how long the car is going to take to get from antwerp to the garage (Jorssen)

Looking forward to have one of the first F35 30d in Belgium :-))
