Soot on muffler tips - solution!

I got tired of cleaning the black soot off of my muffler tips each weekend. My solution: I removed the tips, cleaned them well with a Mr. Clean sponge, dried them and sprayed a few coats of high-heat black mat spray paint, intended for an outdoor grill. While I was at it, I cleaned the muffler and connecting pipe and painted them flat black also. The muffler looks much better than seeing the silver OEM color.

Net: The black soot can (essentially) not be seen on the flat black painted muffler tips and they are the same color and texture as the soot!
