So, short story long. I have Lifetime FSC code for my navigation. I forgot to revert to original prior to having the recent ECU emission recall done. 2017 X3 x28i. When they completed the recall, which is a flash of the ECU my navigation wouldn't start. Anyone have any thoughts on if this is due to the Lifetime FSC getting removed by the flash? Dealer is continuing to troubleshoot. The is an iDrove 5 NBT EVO headunit

Seems kind of 100% certainly due to the new flash.

Guessing you tried to input the code again? It would not be surprising it doesn't work any more. I would think they would agree to give you a new code for no charge.

On the up side, since they broke it, they should fix it.

The shop foreman said sometimes something will stop working due to a flash. I'm hoping it's as simple as needing a new code.

I did not try inputting my code again since I didn't take it back from the dealer. I noticed it wasn't working before I drove off the lot. They are continuing to troubleshoot.

Thanks for the feedback.

Did you get this FSC code from BMW or some 3rd party site?

I assume the code you acquired is not legit...tell the seller what happened and ask for another code. Not sure I'd be asking the dealer to help you on this one

I know, I'll probably just buy a new code from dealer and make the system legit again.

Hello, the same situation happen to me! After hardly warning them that they never suggested not to go to a 3rd party, BMW Dealer and BMW Canada says they will reflash the whole EVO id5 program and strongly advise me not to insert any coding into my X3

Unfortunately 2017 HU may have the option but BMW Canada doesn't wish to activate the carplay on my car and ask me to an alternative way to use carplay! Anyone can recommend me an AUX Module with no cutting and welding, please?
