New X4

Hi everyone, I normally stalk the F30 forum where you can get some great advice tips etc.

Anyway I thought I should say hello and share my new X4. Picked her up today and she is lovely!

Not yet, thought id settle her in and then take it from there. Having said that another forum member pointed out the steering wheel-why is it so ugly compared to others-that will probably bug me so not sure how easy a swap out is? The Msport wheels on the F30/1 are much better

I kind of agree...but it's not that I find the X4 M steering wheel ugly, but the F30/1 M steering wheel is drop dead gorgeous!

Well 250 miles in, I thought I'd share my initial impressions and my favourite bit so far

In comparison to my 328i MSport the X4 feels much more grown up. Engine and road noise nicely muted with interior definitely superior in fit and finish.
The handling is rather a pleasant surprise! I wasn't expecting it to be as accomplished, certainly equals the 328 in most situations, maybe loses out due to weight etc at 10/10ths

HK sound is very impressive indeed, looking forward to the speakers bedding in but so far a massive leap on from the standard set in the 328.

Adaptive lights are simply genius if not a little unnerving ( never quite sure they will 'dip' in time)

Surround View has already been very useful- I was surprised to find that Surround View springs to life itself if you are travelling slowly and the car detects an obstruction! Saving me embarrassment and a few £'s after preventing me from damaging the car not 2hrs after collecting it! Phew:

Connected Drive is a complete PITA - I am sure I'll pick it up but it all seems incredibly archaic compared to smart phones IMHO- I'm sure the answer is to but come on it is shite

Last but not least Adaptive Suspension is very good- Comfortable is just that where as Sport is rather nervous and jiggly? I don't know if it matches standard MSport suspension but if it does I'm glad I went Adaptive

In summation I'm very, very pleased definitely a step up on all counts compared to my last 328i
