Just acquired 2016 x4 28i - GY Eagle Ls2 OEM? Really?!

Wife just acquired 28i with drive...She loves the car and I do too - nice SAV.

But I am so unhappy Eagle LS2's are oem equipment

The reviews on these tires are dismal and their performance in snow is below dismal. We live right in snow country too...

Looking for winter wheels and tires this week...

I think you should give BMW more credit, than that they put on crappy tires. Besides, they (tires) can`t be too bad, since you are happy with the car.

That said, I believe the LS2 are all seasons? In my world all seasons are - at least - half crappy, and since you are planning to put on winter tires - why did you not order performance tires?

Again - if I am wrong - and the LS2 are performance tires, I would give BMW the credit of testing tires before approval. That is not done in the US-factory backyard, but on Nuerburgring Alte Schleife.

They are a touring tire - all seasons. I absolutely would have gone performance tire if we were ordering the car. This was in in inventory vehicle.

Sooner or later you need new tires - I am happy with my staggered 20" Pirelli P Zero Run Flats.

Chopper45, Ireland, was unhappy with his, due to bad roads in Ireland - exchanged for Vredestein Vorti, which he claims is next to heaven

The Great Midwest? Like Kansas City? Should be good roads.

Minnesota...Good roads for the most part. Probably going to go 18's and a 235 for Winter.

Ordered a set of 17" WS80's for Winter on a set of tirerack wheels...The all seasons we'll just use outside of winter.

If it were my car I would have put performance winter rubber on, but its the wifes everyday driver and I think she'll be happier with the snow/ice tire.

Is it in the air?

There has been two clear winners for the last two winters - no shit.
And I am talking European magazines and non studded tires - not only Swedish or Finnish magazines. All in all studded tires are the winners- but I realise it is a nogo outside the Nordic countries.
The non-studded winners are Hakka R2 and Conti Viking Contact 6.

Apart from the air, there is a significant difference in priority - in Europe we put high priority on braking performance - both on ice/snow and dry/wet asphalt.
This is even more important on ice/snow with AWD, since it is more difficult to discover road being slippery - until it`s too late.
