Should I still schedule a visit to Spartanburg?
hey guys,
From putting down a $500 deposit for 2014 X3 35i to delivery took 2.5 weeks (which is amazing for a new build) I'm picking up the new car this weekend at the dealership. My CA dropped the ball with the PCD scheduling as I did informed him of my desire for PCD pickup at Spartanburg during the ordering. Should I still schedule a visit to the performance center for the free driving classes, m5 hot lap, and X series driving course? thx guys |

Yes, if you have never been to the Performance Center or done a delivery there, it is a great event. My dealer has thrown in the mock delivery for 2 cars prior to the actual PCD delivery there but being from Charlotte it is an easy 90 mile drive.
Besides the driving and hot lap, the factory tour and the X3/X5 off-road course are really cool things too. However I'd call the Performance Center to confirm the factory tour is available due to the upcoming launch of the X4 and new X5. Actually, you can wait and schedule the mock delivery for up to a year out, so just find the time that best suits your travel and if driving, there are plenty of other attractions in the area or on the way so a nice vacation can be made of it.

^ This!
The X3/X5 off-road course is pretty cool and the track is fun. OP if you get a chance to go to Spartanburg, it's well worth it.

I would say do it - it's not earth shattering but it's a fun day. If you're driving back to NY, I may rethink it depending on how valuable time is to you, how you like long drives, etc.

I was just at the Performance Center on Monday. Definitely worth the trip! But be aware that factory tours are shut down until Summer 2014 according to the letter they gave me.
