You can probably knock off another $1000.

Why a 28i

Frankly given the difference in cost (not that much) why not purchase the 35i?

I agree, I think the 35i would be around the same price.

Seeing $50,584 on truecar. Invoice $49,365. So another $1k as above may be a pretty good price.

Thanks all, I will look at 35i too, comes to 51,595 for 35i minus Driver Assistance Plus. I am OK without Driver Assistance Plus.

My car was estimated $51k MSRP. I ended up getting them down to $45K. So I would keep negotiating. Check other dealerships too. They'll compete with each other.

I want to bump this because I am now in buying mode for a X3 for my wife, and want to see how you made out.

BTW , the X3 is not elgible for the holiday incentive and there doesn't seem to be any incentives besides college grad for the 2015 X3.

I'm interested in knowing this as well. I'm in the market right now and wonder if there are any year end deals.

That's an amazing deal, $6k off MSRP. Car on lot or custom order?

Dealers get aggressive and roll out new incentives starting January so I might just wait. Doesn't seem to be any room to negotiate right now.

Something in the middle. The dealer didn't have the car I wanted on the lot so we went through a custom order online. The dealer checked if any similar models were available sooner and it turned out the exact same car was in production in South Carolina. I had to pay a deposit ($500?) to get the car reserved for my dealer since it was just a random production from the performance center.

I was given a production number and was able to track its progress. It arrived about 2 weeks later on the truck, so I presume it was around 75% built when we reserved it.

The key for me was to shop around dealers. The first dealer told me they would give it to me for 48K and they were not flexible about that. That was around Dec so that's AFTER all the Christmas deals. It didn't seem like a deal to me, so I emailed 5 dealers in my area and asked if they could do better.

The best dealer ended up being one that mostly does online sales. They have lower overhead since less people come in to the office and they worked very fast. No BS. They also gave me the most of any of the dealers for my previous car. So it was win-win. I still take my car to the dealer closer for maintenance, but I'll go back to my sales girl when I want another car.

Also, make sure you ask for A DETAILED print out of the price of the car. I wanted to see that the BASE PRICE was $45,000 as agreed upon, and that the taxes they were claiming were legit. The dealer made a fuss about "not normally doing that" but they eventually did. Don't let them take advantage of you. They'll try all these tricks to fit in extra "fees"!

Guys, cost varies in different parts of the country. SoCal people are in super competitive markets so I always hear about their impressive deals on vehicles.

I'm in a NYC suburb so getting $500 over invoice or less even on a special order brand new model BMW is a relatively easy task. When I bought my first BMW from my local dealer I got 4 online quotes from other NJ dealers and had them match the lowest one.

I'm rather surprised that even if you're in a less competetive market that this time of the year you're not able to secure a lower cost: end of month, quarter and year- 3 reasons for dealers to want to make sales.

Traditionally, the only better time is when next year's model comes out- early summer for X3.
